In today’s world knowing computers is as important as knowing how to read and write. Computer Centre at Dayanand College, Ajmer believes that its just not the contents of the curriculum that is to be taught but the way it is taught and the inputs that enable learning. The Computer Centre has state of the art facilities with networks of around 40 nodes. It has in-house computerized activities of Examination and Result Processing, Payroll and Accounts, Provident Fund Account & Returns etc. It has helped Finance department to computerize and network its activities including its students interface. Entire college campus is connected via virtual pvt network (pvn) system communicative medium with optical fibre line.

The well equipped spacious own Computer Centre of the College along with its Local Area Network (LAN) offers computing facilities to all teaching, research and administrative departments in the College as well as to outsiders. The Centre aims at making available IT education at affordable cost- Various prestigious universities of India are holding their theory as well as practical classes alongwith final exam in our computer centre.

The standard PC softwares, the Centre also has software like Linux Operating System, Turbo C, Java, Oracle 8 server, Web Developer suite, Visual studio, SPSS, Foxpro (DOS & Windows), Corel-5, PageMaker 6.5 Office 2000 etc. These hardware and software are being used for data processing work related to pre examination data, administration, accounting and finance besides training of students enrolled in various courses.

Courses at DAV Computer Centre :

1.      Vocational Course in Computer Applications (Optional Paper in BA/BCOM/BSC) Three Year Course:

Keeping in mind the increase in IT related employment opportunities, the college has introduced Computer Applications as an Optional Subject (Vocational Subject) in BA, BSc, BCom from the academic session 2002-03. Any student doing BA, BSc, BCom can choose Computer Applications as an Optional Subject (Vocational Subject) at first Degree Level in lieu of any one optional subject in which he/she is doing Graduation. The subject of Computer Applications as an Optional Subject (Vocational Subject) would be in lieu to the conventional three years of his / her Graduation. Admissions in this subject would be strictly made on the basis of merit.
